Our team is made up of both native Richmonders and RVA enthusiasts with over 30 years of Real Estate experience combined.

Matt Jarreau

I’m a Richmond native and have stayed local my entire life. I was raised in both Glen Allen and Ginter Park, giving me a great first hand perspective on suburban and city living.

I attended Benedictine from 1996-2000 which gave me my first glimpse of urban living and planted the seeds for being interested in real estate and architecture. In high school and college I managed pools throughout RVA and drove up to 700 miles a week. I gained an intimate understanding of the city and surrounding counties in those early days.

Before graduating in 2006 from VCU, I completed a study of New Urbanization which opened my eyes to the many interesting neighborhoods in the city as well as current and past trends in population shifts, zoning and planning. While at VCU I discovered Church Hill and in March 2006, just before graduating, I closed on my first home. I knew at that moment that I would be involved in real estate on some level for years to come.

Within 6 weeks of graduation I had my Real Estate License in hand and began my career and have never looked back. It’s a privilege and a joy to help people everyday buy or sell their homes, rentals, or multifamily properties.

Ernie Chamberlain

After graduating from college in northwest Ohio, my wife and I moved to North Carolina, where I taught high school and middle school English. A few years later, her career brought us to Richmond—and it didn’t take long for us to fall in love with the city. New jobs, new friends, and a new community made Richmond feel like home almost immediately.

During those early years here, I found myself searching for a different kind of challenge. When I stepped into real estate, I knew instantly that I had found it. The very first home I sold was a whirlwind of excitement—helping a young couple make the biggest purchase of their lives and, more importantly, helping them find their place. That experience set the tone for everything that followed.

Real estate energizes me because I’m passionate about helping people. I thrive on connection, communication, and guiding clients step-by-step through one of life’s biggest milestones. Every day, I’m fortunate to work with incredible individuals and couples, offering them clear communication, thoughtful insight, and strong market knowledge.

Richmond truly won my heart from the start. The people, the culture, and the warmth of this community continue to inspire me. Whether you’re searching north or south of the James River, I’d love the opportunity to help you find the place you’ll call home.

Jen Skrzypek

I’m originally from Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State University in 2010. I’ve been in RVA now for several years and it truly feels like home. When I first moved here, I fell in love with all of the outdoor beauty, the rivers, trails, and of course the amazing people.

I spent the last several years working in special events & the service industry as well as in property management. It was the property management experience that led into my career as a real estate agent and working with George: A Real Estate Group. I love the people I get to work with and have always valued my relationships with my clients.

It’s a pleasure to serve the people of RVA. As my career moves forward, I look forward to the many more great client relationships and friendships yet to come.

Melvin Jones

I moved to Chesterfield, VA with my family in 1999. After attending Chesterfield County Public Schools and graduating from high school, I played basketball at Western Oklahoma State University and Pitt Community College. I ultimately earned my Bachelor’s degree from Virginia State University after studying business management.

After college, I worked in management at a local restaurant before deciding to change directions to enter a career in real estate. It’s been an amazing change for me, and I couldn’t be happier!

I received my real estate license in 2016 and earned a “Rising Star” award in 2017 and a “Century Club” award in 2019 for production and growth.

I joined George: A Real Estate Group at the end of 2019 and it’s been an amazing journey ever since. When I’m not helping clients with real estate, I love to play golf, read, watch sports, and workout.

Peggy Depew

Born & bred in the heart of Richmond! Shaped by a foster care journey that led me through various corners of the city, I gained an interest in real estate at such a young age. After working at VCU/ VCU Medical Center for over a decade, I decided to switch gears, aiming to make a meaningful impact in RVA and its neighboring communities. I thrive on helping others, particularly in complex realms like Real Estate & Business, pushing myself to be the best I can be! I knew real estate was the right path for me when I discovered the limitless possibilities for learning and achievement! 

Beyond the grind, I spend my time working out at the gym, park-hopping with my pup, volunteering for the CASA Program (Court Appointed Special Advocate) where I help preserve the well-being of children in foster care, and love to travel to new places (preferably somewhere really warm)! 

So incredibly thankful to be a part of the George Group, working with the best of the best! I look forward to crafting beautiful client relationships on this exciting journey!
