Our team is made up of both native Richmonders and RVA enthusiasts with over 30 years of Real Estate experience combined.

Matt Jarreau

I’m a Richmond native who has spent my entire life in and around the city, giving me a deep, firsthand understanding of both urban and suburban living. I was raised in Glen Allen and Ginter Park, which shaped my appreciation for Richmond’s diverse neighborhoods and communities.

I attended Benedictine from 1996–2000, where I first experienced urban living up close and developed an early interest in real estate and architecture. During high school and college, I managed pools throughout the Richmond area, often driving up to 700 miles a week. Those years gave me an intimate knowledge of the city and surrounding counties that continues to serve my clients today.

Before graduating from VCU in 2006, I completed a focused study on New Urbanization, which opened my eyes to the patterns, planning, and population shifts that define Richmond’s neighborhoods. While at VCU, I discovered Church Hill—and in March 2006, just before graduating, I purchased my first home. That experience confirmed what I already felt: real estate would be a long-term part of my life.

Within six weeks of graduation, I earned my real estate license and began my career. I’ve never looked back. Today, it’s both a privilege and a joy to help people buy and sell homes, rental properties, and multifamily investments throughout the Richmond region.

Ernie Chamberlain

I’m a licensed Realtor and co-leader of George: A Real Estate Group, helping buyers and sellers navigate the Richmond, Virginia market with clarity, confidence, and care.

After graduating from college in northwest Ohio, my wife and I moved to North Carolina, where I taught high school and middle school English. A few years later, her career brought us to Richmond—and it didn’t take long for the city to feel like home. New careers, new friendships, and a strong sense of community quickly rooted us here.

Looking for a new challenge, I found my calling in real estate. My very first transaction—helping a young couple purchase their first home—confirmed what I already suspected: guiding people through meaningful life moments was exactly where I belonged.

Today, I’m known for clear communication, thoughtful guidance, and a deep understanding of Richmond’s neighborhoods and housing market. I pride myself on being approachable, responsive, and detail-oriented, making sure my clients feel informed and confident at every step of the process.

Richmond’s people, culture, and neighborhoods continue to inspire me every day. Whether you’re buying or selling north or south of the James River, I’d love the opportunity to help you find not just a house, but a place to call home.

Jen Skrzypek

I’m originally from Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State University in 2010. I’ve been in RVA now for several years and it truly feels like home. When I first moved here, I fell in love with all of the outdoor beauty, the rivers, trails, and of course the amazing people.

I spent the last several years working in special events & the service industry as well as in property management. It was the property management experience that led into my career as a real estate agent and working with George: A Real Estate Group. I love the people I get to work with and have always valued my relationships with my clients.

It’s a pleasure to serve the people of RVA. As my career moves forward, I look forward to the many more great client relationships and friendships yet to come.

Melvin Jones

I moved to Chesterfield, VA with my family in 1999. After attending Chesterfield County Public Schools and graduating from high school, I played basketball at Western Oklahoma State University and Pitt Community College. I ultimately earned my Bachelor’s degree from Virginia State University after studying business management.

After college, I worked in management at a local restaurant before deciding to change directions to enter a career in real estate. It’s been an amazing change for me, and I couldn’t be happier!

I received my real estate license in 2016 and earned a “Rising Star” award in 2017 and a “Century Club” award in 2019 for production and growth.

I joined George: A Real Estate Group at the end of 2019 and it’s been an amazing journey ever since. When I’m not helping clients with real estate, I love to play golf, read, watch sports, and workout.

Peggy Depew

Born & bred in the heart of Richmond! Shaped by a foster care journey that led me through various corners of the city, I gained an interest in real estate at such a young age. After working at VCU/ VCU Medical Center for over a decade, I decided to switch gears, aiming to make a meaningful impact in RVA and its neighboring communities. I thrive on helping others, particularly in complex realms like Real Estate & Business, pushing myself to be the best I can be! I knew real estate was the right path for me when I discovered the limitless possibilities for learning and achievement! 

Beyond the grind, I spend my time working out at the gym, park-hopping with my pup, volunteering for the CASA Program (Court Appointed Special Advocate) where I help preserve the well-being of children in foster care, and love to travel to new places (preferably somewhere really warm)! 

So incredibly thankful to be a part of the George Group, working with the best of the best! I look forward to crafting beautiful client relationships on this exciting journey!
